California Fish Counts

What’s biting, where, and how many — updated every day by the landings themselves. Every card below opens the live source in a new tab, so the numbers you see are always current. We don’t republish or cache counts here: they go stale within hours, and the landings deserve the credit for their reporting.

Sources checked September 29, 2026. Counts are maintained by each source and update independently of this page.

Common questions

Where can I see today’s fish counts?

Landings publish their own counts every day, usually the afternoon or evening after trips return. The cards above open each live source directly — what you see there is current.

Why doesn’t Spirit list the numbers here?

Counts go stale within hours. Linking you to the live source keeps the numbers accurate and gives the landings credit for their reporting.

Can I see past counts?

Most landings keep archives on their own sites — handy for spotting bite trends before you book.

When are counts usually updated?

Same-day, after the boats get back in — typically afternoon or evening. Morning trips often post by mid-afternoon.
